Terms of service

These terms cover your purchase and use of BaseCommerce from Exiid Labs. Buying a licence means you accept them.

What you are buying

A licence to use the BaseCommerce theme and its plugin suite — BaseCart, BaseFilters and BaseBoost. Every plan includes all of them; plans differ only in how many sites you may activate. You are buying a licence to use the software, not ownership of it.

Sites and activation

A licence is bound to sites by domain. One activated domain uses one site allowance, and activating a domain you have already activated does not consume a second. If you have used every site your plan allows, release one — from your WordPress admin, or from the licence portal if you no longer have access to the old site — before activating another.

We count staging and development sites too, but you may keep one non-public staging copy per activated production domain at no extra allowance. Do not activate a licence on sites you build for clients unless your plan covers them.

What you may do

• Use the software on as many sites as your plan allows, for yourself or for clients.
• Modify it for your own sites. We do not support modified copies.
• Build and sell sites for clients using it.

What you may not do

• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publish the software or your licence key.
• Share a key with people outside your organisation.
• Remove or defeat the licensing or update mechanism.

The theme and plugins are released under the GPL where that licence applies to their code. These terms govern the paid services attached to your key — updates, activation and support — not your GPL rights in the code you have received.

Updates and support

An active licence entitles you to updates and support for as long as it is active. If it lapses, the software you have installed keeps working — we do not remotely disable anything running on your site. You stop receiving new versions and support until you renew.

Support is delivered by email at support@basecommerce.io. It covers defects and questions about the software itself. It does not cover custom development, third-party plugins, or your hosting.

Billing

Plans are billed annually and renew automatically until cancelled. We charge the payment method on file on the renewal date. Cancel any time before then to avoid the charge; see our refund policy for what happens after one.

Prices are shown in EUR. Taxes are added at checkout where we are required to collect them.

Suspension

We may suspend a licence for chargebacks, fraud, or redistribution of the software or key. We will email you first unless the abuse is ongoing.

Warranty and liability

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it is free of defects or that it will work with every plugin, host, or WordPress version. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Keep backups. You are responsible for your own site.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to licence holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the software after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of jurisdiction to confirm, and disputes go to the courts there. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have in your own country.
